Bon Jour! Let's talk about Franschhoek and one if its most popular festivals, Bastille day, which takes places on 14 - 15 July 2012.
The graceful, sophisticated town of Franschhoek is the culinary captial of the Cape Winelands and has its roots steeped in French history. Located in a valley surrounded by vineyards, lavender fields and majestic mountains it's easy to feel like you're in Provence. From gourmet restaurants to art galleries and even the architecture; there's a definite French flair about this quaint town.

Get unhinged at Franschhoek's Uncorked wine festival
You've got two options. You can either go to the Uncorked wine festival or not go. The former is, of course, the most sensible option. Celebrate the arrival of Spring at the Uncorked festival held annually in the Wineland's gourmet capital, Franschhoek, and indulge your palette with a sensation of fruity, wooded and spicy wines. This year the Uncorked event will take place on 3 & 4 September. If you don't go, you'll end up whining about it.
