HRH Prince Charles in Cape Town 2011

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales landed in Cape Town earlier this week to address important environmental issues. He's here to stop people from throwing cigarette butts out their car windows.

Prince Charles was the keynote speaker at UCT on Saturday 5 November and spoke about the environmental issues leading up to the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The lecture proved to be interesting and of paramount importance.

The lecture was by invitation only, but we managed to get Bron Parker from the Herschel Geography department to video part of Charlie boy's address. Helen Zille, MI5 and bodyguards were spotted in the lecture theatre as were many other interesting people. It was quite an honour to have Prince Charles talking at UCT.

The audio is not the best quality, but do give it a quick glossing over.
